The Chosen One

The Chosen One is a text-based fantasy epic story where, as it often happens, you are the one chosen by the Prophecy, destined to fight in the Last War under the King. Unlike your average tale, though, you most certainly know to be the Chosen One and you have spent all your life waiting for your King's call.
You will NOT be the victim of events out of your control, nor you'll be an unwilling participant. You are not an orphan, and your family will not be slauthered in order for you to unravel your true purpose in this world.
Oh, no. Absolutely not.
Instead, you are prepared and in control. You are powerful, more powerful than any other being that ever walked through this land, and you are ready to fulfill your destiny.
The Story
When the story begins, you are in the North, waiting. And when the call finally, finally, happens, you have to set off for the South with your Mentor, as specified in the prophecy. The Last Journey has begun.
Every interaction counts, rember that. But remember also that you are the Chosen One: you can do what you want, you have the power to forge whatever future you want for the regions and for yourself.
The Cast
The Forgotten One Healer (M/F/NB) | the only LI :
the color of their’s skin, as well as the arcane language that litters
it, marks them as kaehan, a native of the very kingdom you are
prophetised to fight against. But destiny works in strange ways and
maybe, after all, they were the one you needed all along. You will have
to travel far before you meet them, though, and you will have to fight
and to lose more that you ever thought you could shed. Because before
you rise, you have to fall.
The Mentor: they are part of the Prophecy just as you are, chosen to accompain you in the Last Journey. Your bond is... strained. You only want to be looked at with some sort of pride but all you seem to find in their eyes lately is doubt.
The Hero: you'll soon meet them. Remember this, though: keep your jealousy at bay before it starts consuming you.
The King: not much to say about them. They are the king of the land, you never obviously met them and their true intentions remain unknown.
Features
- customize your Chosen One's physical appearance, gender, sexuality and magic.
- choose the rune that's engraved in your skin, and choose carefully because every Region will react accordingly.
- build or destroy relationships with the cast, and find, in the midst of the Last War, the only One you can truly be yourself with.
The story will be released on Itch.io chapter by chapter (with an estimated total of 9 total chapters) and will be completely free form start to finish.

I am absolutely in love with this concept and the writing! It's been around a year since the last update! It would be so sad if this is abandoned, but I really love coming back to play what's already here anyways.

There is a constant inconsistency with the hair length if I choose the shaven one. Every time after that mc does sm with their hair that makes sense with every other length but not the shaven one.

Actually you're quite right. Right now am leaning more towards aligning the Hero's gender with the Chosen One's than making it selectable.

Yes, the story ends there and it's actually the end of the first chapter. There should be a "end of the Demo" under the orange text but it's very small and for the next chapter I'll make the ending more clear!

Hi! From what I understands, this type of error seems to originate from your browser cookie setting.
You can try enabling all cookies for Itch.io, even from "unvisited" or "third party" sites in your browser's cookie settings, and refresh/reload the page, and that should allow the game to function as expected.
Let me know if you're still experiencing issues after that!

just one thing MC complains a lot about everything and I mean a LOT!! Hopefully this trip ahead will reduce its amount 😊
Hi! Haha, oh yes, MC complains a lot! I won't spoil anything, but the Journey will definitely affect that!
Unfortunately, you'll get to meet Rascia (the LI) only in chapter four - they will play a big part in MC's character developement so they have to be introduced at the right time. Though, if you want to read about them before that time you can find me on Tumblr where there are quite some scenarios that introduce the Healer and some cute or heated moments between them and MC!

Hi! That is, in fact, deliberate since MC doesn't want to spare the kids another thought one way or another. But it confused more than one person so I might add a phrase to differentiate the two to avoid any misunderstanding!
